Week 2 Blog – Stella Sather

This week we met with our groups for the first time and started brainstorming possible ideas for our project. During our discussion of potential ideas we all agreed that we want to choose something that has a fun and laid back tone. We were drawn to the projects that groups have done in the past where they try something new. We were curious about maybe trying a team sport like bubble soccer or broomball at the Campus Rec. One obstacle we ran into was the fact that some activities were a one time thing and that seemed risky to rely on only one time to capture all the footage. Another obstacle that arose was not being clear if we are allowed to film these types of events. We ended on the note that we want to propose at least one idea that is similar to these fun, light-hearted activities. We might even be open to doing something off campus and non sport related like a cooking class for example. Personally, I thought the projects that dove into an organization or non-profit in the Lincoln community were interesting. The hard part is finding an organization. I think it is an idea we will definitely keep in mind, though. Overall it was a good class with productive ideas and I am excited to get started on the project!
