Week 4 Blog – Payton Vergin

This week my group presented our three final ideas to our peers. They responded most positively to the kickball intramural and ice cream eating contest ideas. After coming together afterwards and discussing, my group decided to pursue the ice cream eating contest project. However, we felt that we needed to widen our scope a tad to get the most footage. That is how we landed on the idea to do our project on various eating contests in the area. We chose this because we will enjoy the experience and it will be easy to get a variety of content. We’re kind of playing off of the television show “Man vs. Food,” so we will drive around to several different locations and try out their unique challenges. On our list we have a breakfast place, a lunch place, a dinner place, and a desert place. Although we most likely won’t do multiple challenges on the same day, we would like to put the footage together as if it was a full day of meals strictly from eating contests. Some challenges that we might encounter are restaurant operators not allowing us to film inside, not being able to get enough variety in camera angles, and simply getting sick from eating so much food. Also this week we finished up our team contract and we are all on the same page for our team’s expectations.
