Lindsay Elliott – Week 6 Blog

This week, we started our interactive project storytelling presentations. With me presenting in two weeks, I was looking to gain knowledge on what how and what everyone found interesting with their experience. Payton and Stella’s website had great examples of interactive timelines, which I think could be a really cool addition to our final project if we dive deeper into the history of each establishment and how / why each challenge came to be. I also love the sleekness and simplicity of Kristen’s purse website. It would be an awesome feature on our website if we were able to add a hover effect, maybe over the food components of each challenge. For example, the breakfast challenge, like hovering over the pancakes it saying, “The challenge includes eight pancakes” and scroll to the next with the eggs, sausage, etc. The one consistent thing I noticed in the four girls’ projects where just how well the website moved. They all flowed and fit together very well, and their color themes / vibes backed the value of the company great. While presenting my project, I plan on making a presentation or using note cards. I feel that a few of the presentations this week were just explaining and showing the website, not actually diving in the questions that were asked of us to assess the interactive component of the site so that is what I to avoid with mine.

This week, we have not thus far created anything for our project. We did run into a scheduling conflict as we had a set meeting for Thursday to start researching and preparing for our film day next Saturday, but Stella and Jennifer realized they would not be able to make it on Wednesday. With group communication, we were able to decide that since we are already meeting Sunday to watch an episode of Man vs. Food, we would just plan to complete our research and prep then. Other than that, we have a full plate and are ready to dive in to our project!
