Week 7 Blog- Stella Sather

This week I watched several people present their interactive websites. The one that stuck out to me in regards to utilizing the techniques was the Granny’s Secret website. I think the techniques in this website would be beneficial to use in my group’s project since it is centered around food as well. The thing that stuck with me was the storytelling aspect and the photography techniques. The company that the website revolved around had a story to be told and I thought the way they did it was interactive to watch. They included good graphics and a voiceover to explain the story. I think we should incorporate the stories of the restaurants we go to and the food challenge’s history. This will bring the storytelling aspect to our website. Another thing I enjoyed were how great the photography shots were of the food. I hope we can capture content similar to that so we can include those pictures on our website. A problem area that I noticed in some of the presentations were how hard the websites were to navigate. This is something I will pay close attention to when constructing our webpage. In regards to our project this week, we are meeting tonight at 5 to outline exactly how our process of the food challenges will go on Saturday. We will also be checking out equipment like DSLR’s and video cameras to use for our filming day. Hopefully next week when I write my blog there will be many content advancements to talk about.
