With this week’s projects, I noticed a lot of great examples of typography in websites my classmates chose. I think while creating our website, finding fun fonts and layouts with each episode page will only add to our final project. This was something that stayed constant throughout all projects, as well as the smooth scrolling from page to page. As our project will consist of a lot of video, I was also able to see some fun ways to design those in as well. In Thomas’s article, they also had a lot of great charts and infographics. I think while doing the background on each restaurant we visit; we can create a graphic of the success rate of each challenge as well. The only issue I noticed with the projects was how each presenter explained the website but would then lack to answer the questions asked of us in the description of the project. I haven’t decided on whether I plan to make a PowerPoint or just hold notecards but to ensure that I meet all requirements, I will definitely prepare something.
This week in our group, we prepared to head to Omaha for our first shoot day on Saturday. As no one specific completed any one task, we all worked together to map out our goal for what we want to accomplish. We did run into a struggle with everyone being able to make it to meetings as we had one scheduled last Thursday to plan but two people were unable to make it, and then on Sunday, our location fell through so we decided not to meet as well. Although it did not affect us much and were able to get everything done Thursday night, we will just need to communicate and commit to our project so everyone is confident in what we will be submitting.
