With our team being the first presenters, we received a lot of feedback as to how we can improve our project. First of all, we need to work on timing and make sure we cover all topics as to why we included it in our story. This will come with a team meeting where we discuss who wants to talk about what come final presentation, making sure we have enough to fill the time and avoid dead space. Within this critique, we will talk about how we used our equipment, fix Jennifer’s audio issues, and include Payton into the final presentation. I plan on adding in/fixing all formatting errors along with Payton’s help, so you are actually able to see the dessert video and pictures and left aligning all text. Along with that, I really like the idea of adding captions to all pictures to give them context and breaking them up with the text, so I will do that as well. I think we will just avoid showing our video during the presentation as we don’t want it to show up weird on some peer’s computers, whether that be the audio or video. As we still have two weeks left, we will reach out to the owners of the restaurants and attempt to gather that additional content, work with the map idea more, and once done email it to you for another set of revisions to have the best possible project.
This week, we put all of our content either onto the box drive or inserted it into the website for the presentation. It was my responsibility to do the voice over for our dessert episode, edit and insert the pictures, and design the layout for all of our content on the website. My biggest challenge this week was trying to navigate WIx while editing and putting it in the content, as this is not a strong suit of mine, and I was not entirely sure what I was doing. In the future, our team needs to have better communication as to setting deadlines, so we don’t run into last minute issues such as this one, and we are able to get ahold of one another to problem solve. Overall, this situation was on me as I pushed off putting on the final components until the night/morning before and did not take into account any problems that would arise.
