Final BLog – Lindsay Elliott

Yesterday, we presented our final project for the visual communication courses that we have been working on all semester. It feels weird being done with a portion of the major that has concentrated so heavily on how to tell a story with content. I was very pleased with how this semester has gone, our end product, and the support and work of my teammates. I feel throughout the semester, I played a large role in the communication and efficiency of the group, keeping us on task, and driven to reach our goal. I really enjoyed my contribution of layout design and finding, editing, posting, and captioning the images. In the end, each one of my fellow group members played such a large part in the completion and success of our website. Connor was so awesome when it came to video and offering to edit the two episodes together. With Payton having experience with web design, she was so helpful in designing and creating the site, as well taking on the challenge of creating the interactive map. Stella did a great job with all typography featured on the website, going into great detail to explain our story in words. Jennifer really came through with the timeline, although the format on the site was not our best decision, the concept was super creative and an awesome addition to our content.

If I could have done anything differently, it would have been taking on another challenge in Omaha when we had the chance. Obviously, we couldn’t have foreseen the pandemic, but it did limit the content we had to talk about in the final presentation, and the fun we were looking forward too. As for challenges, our semester was very smooth, and our team worked together very well. Going into the practice presentation, we were not as prepped as need be, but this was another success for our team, as our final presentation was very well rehearsed and professional.
